Such a disgrace (I think) for taking a bad photo of this important moment in my life! :P
This is Mr. James Jean, friends. I have no words for this man, but I can definitely say that he is one of the reasons why I’m never giving up on my ability to draw (the very little I have of it).
In this, you can see him drawing on the cover of a Muji notebook I recently purchased. I am converting it into a planner by manually writing/decoupaging dividers and numbers. This is one of my personal DIY (tactile, non-digital) projects for this year, to add me some boost of uhh creativity. It feels like a high school project but that can be the point of the whole thing. I need a breather from all the grown-up worries/To Dos I have for the year. #goodexcuses
I’d have no problem using the first week of January to define my direction for the year. It was all about creating, organizing, and new experiences. All full of (he)art!

The reason why I remembered Lumière earlier today was because I had difficulty identifying who shot Woman Walking Downstairs (I originally thought it was one of his actualités.) After much research (thanks Google), I was led to Eadweard Muybridge. I’ve always known him as man who shot the galloping horse. :|

Tooters, Tweeters, Strings and Beaters

Nine-year old boy Maurice Clooney is given the fun privilege to review the book mentioned above  (which he thinks is for “Awesome people like me who are in Band”) over at Lane Smith’s blog. This kid’s witty-blunt comments are classic.

“The WOOD BLOCK is a legitimate instrument.”

This is a timely find, especially now that I’m stuck at work and I find it senseless to feel this stressed out and helpless. But thanks, U2. I really do think that I’ll go crazy if I don’t go crazy right at this very moment.

And for the video: beautiful art made by (one of my favorites) artist-illustrator Jon Klassen, in collaboration with master animator David O’Reilley. :)
