Just thought of documenting this rare moment where the desk seems to be in order and things don’t seem to be part of a bigger mess. Now meet the cast of my newly cleaned-up desk.
From left to right: My 7-year old VW New Beetle model in blue (the only one that survived, the rest just… melted), my new penholders (ceramic glasses from Ikea!), Totoro doll from a good friend (one of my favorite things in the world, lovingly handcrafted by this girl named Sharon See), Gingy the Happy Meal toy (who once starred in one of the videos I made), partly-seen potion (aka juice) tumbler from Far Far Away Land (aka Universal Studios, SG), a KLM miniature ceramic house from one of my sister-in-law’s trips to the UK, and that red Google mug I won from a contest two years ago (which receives my default dump of coins, loose buttons, pins, etc). :P
In the background: a part of my beer bottle collection (contributors, anyone?) and some cans from Singapore, which I plan to convert into plant holders soon.
Not in photo: Mr. P Jr., my very fat indoor plant. I let him out for some un-walled sunlight when this picture was taken.
Disclaimer: I am not a huge Shrek fan nor am I an alcoholic.

Someone had been using my old toothbrush for months. Found out about it when someone else replaced the said toothbrush. But no, not for me.

It is pointless to defend its ownership. No matter how much you insist or keep proving that the toothbrush is actually yours because you bought it yourself (and its bristles have turned into a crazy opposite-mohawk because you brush really, really hard and for that it sticks out of the rest in the communal container), you still lose. After all the detective work, the clearest of truths is that you’ve shared spit with someone else for almost every single day of the past month or so.

I no longer feel secure in my own home. Ha ha ha.

——-

For your reference, I’ve included below a photo of an old toothbrush. I am quite obsessed with having to intensely brush my choppers. A friend even told me that brushing the teeth is actually a mechanical process, not a chemical one. Makes sense. And no one else in our household does the same thing. No one!

Nothing much has changed except for the computer upgrade and a taller, fatter Mr. P. I still get sick and work from home, and take pictures of my desk from this angIe.

Hello. I started a little 365 thing yesterday just for fun. This is my work setup at home today. Posts can be found here or here.

I caught the sniffles yesterday and had a really hard time sleeping. Big thanks to a very sore throat and a stuffy nose I can’t breathe through. Still I worked on a crafts-y project for work at home, had some calamansi juice, and went to the office for some important errands after lunch.
I should’ve stayed at home.

My eyes droop

It’s almost midnight and I am still awake.

We’ve all moved out of the old apartment into this spacious house. The doors and windows are mostly left unclosed so the wind can gust right through. I can’t believe how pleasantly breezy the weather is despite the heat, although the doors keep banging. I still need to shop for room stuff. Door stoppers included.

Before going straight home tonight, I stopped by the nearest hardware at the mall for additional room fixtures. I spent a mad P1,000 (I call that mad because I’m improperly stingy) and I’m now using my impulse purchases but only with a slight tinge of regret. I bought an extra energy-saving bulb for my lamp. It sheds only 8W worth of light but it brightens up the desk. “Energy-saving” lured me. I’m paying partially for our electric bill now.

My five-year-old nephew Gabriel also seems like a fixture in my room. He’s almost always on my bed now either singing or playing with my Powerpuff Girls. (I’m sorry, Gabby, I don’t have boy toys. Haha. It’s fine to look under their skirts, okay. For now there’s nothing to find there anyway.)

This is all a blessing in disguise. While I know for a fact (it is fact, believe me) that staying up this late will have consequences tomorrow morning (for I cannot have less than eight hours of sleep nowadays, I wake at 6), being with family is truly a blessing. It was a difficult choice, considering that I have loved and gotten used to walking home from work, but having a bigger room and living with seven more people is not bad. Not bad at all. :)
